Johann Hoff bottles were used for malt extract, a medicinal tonic widely sold during the 19th and early 20th centuries. These examples measure approximately 7.75" tall, a typical size for the form. Their very dark olive glass appears nearly black in lower light and glows rich green when illuminated by sunlight. Great displayed as a pair, used as small flower vases, or added to an antique bottle or apothecary collection.
