These are the real deal. Note, some sources consider cinnabar to be toxic, so use caution. A professional appraiser, specializing in antiques from China, advised not to clean them, but to sell as is. The pair are quite heavy, able to hold a lot of books.The bookends are in great shape for their age with only minor "flea bites" and chips. I have highlighted any found flaws in the last 4 photos. They are hard to notice with the naked eye.
