This Orrefors Sven Palmqvist Cat Vase is absolutely gorgeous and creates beautiful prisms of light when placed in direct and artifical light. The whimisical cat that adorns the face of the vase is very delicately etched for an interesting twist on this elegant vase.
About the artist, Sven Palmqvist (1906–1984) was one of Sweden's leading glass artists during the 20th century. After his studies at the University of Arts and Design in Stockholm, he worked for the Orrefors glassworks between the 1940s and 1970s. His artistry is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design. Handmade in the Vintage 1960’s Glass Crystal
We are not experts find no chips, cracks, or scratches on the vase, outside of the typical wear marks on the bottom of the vase that is typical with glass vases of this age.
