Incredible original vintage WWII / immediate post-WWII U.S. military photograph album containing a large collection of period photographs documenting military personnel, aircraft, vehicles, ships, alsubmarine, and various scenes from military life.
The album contains numerous photographs of Black/African American U.S. servicemen, making it an especially interesting piece of African American military history from the WWII/postwar era. Later photographs include numerous military aircraft, with many of the latter half of the albums images apparently taken in Tennessee.
One particularly unusual photograph appears to document a public hanging/execution, with individuals visibly suspended and a crowd gathered nearby. The exact location, individuals, and circumstances depicted have not been identified.
Includes a mixture of posed portraits and candid snapshots, providing what appears to be a serviceman’s personal photographic record rather than commercially produced military photographs.
