This is not a modern reproduction or offset print, but an original darkroom photographic print created from the observatory’s astronomical negative. The reverse is stamped “ANDROMEDA GALAXY – Lick Observatory Photograph,” identifying its source.
The image captures M31 with its companion galaxies M32 and M110, one of the most iconic astronomical photographs produced during the era of professional film astrophotography.
Condition is very good for its age, showing light handling wear, minor edge wear, and tape residue on the reverse from previous mounting. Please examine all photographs for the best indication of condition.
