Original vintage 1938 Fooey Face license plate topper — the classic mechanical clown head that mounts on top of a license plate.
This one has the full action: the eyes light up and the tongue sticks out when you hit the brakes. Painted metal clown face with the signature red/black/cream coloring and the slot in the mouth. Still on its original long metal mounting bracket (heavily rusted with the typical age and wear, keyhole slots, and cutouts). Wiring is present, and the round metal housing on the back has faded manufacturer stamping.
Key details:
• Original mechanical license plate topper
• Eyes light up and tongue sticks out when the brakes are applied
• Hand-painted metal clown face
• Original mounting bracket
• Wiring still attached
• Authentic patina, paint wear, and rust consistent with age
Cool piece of early automobilia and roadside novelty. Great for classic car collectors, garage walls, or display.
