Up for sale is an authentic, original 1931 Plymouth Model PA radiator cap and hood ornament assembly. This is a genuine 95-year-old pre-war Detroit automotive artifact manufactured by the legendary Stant Manufacturing Company in Connersville, Indiana.
Markings & Authenticity:
The underside is highly detailed and fully legible, featuring:
• The crisp cursive "Stanco" factory logo.
• Stamped casting part number C-2693.
• Perimeter text reading: "The Stant Mfg. Co., Connersville, Ind. Pats. Pend."
• Original interior brass cap locking mechanisms and center screw are present.

• The Good: The top-facing profile features exceptionally smooth, bright chrome plating with deep reflection. It is remarkably free of the heavy pitting, bubbling, and scaling usually found on pot metal from this era. It presents beautifully.
• The Flaws: This piece has honest vintage wear from decades of history. The rear trailing tip of the main shield has snapped off, and there are old, weathered fractures on the bottom trailing edges of the left and right wings (visible in the close-up macro photos). The top surface is missing the separate bolted-on center statuette (Flying Lady/Mermaid).
