Original Surrealist Alien Art Painting 16x20 Flat Board - by Harry ShafferThis is a captivating, original 16\" x 20\" surrealist landscape painting featuring an evocative, dreamlike sci-fi alien and orbs scene. Signed by the artist in the lower right corner, this piece is executed on a flat canvas board likely with acrylic paint and is sold unframed, making it easy to display as-is or customize with a frame of your choice.About the Artist:
While perfect for collectors of alien, sci-fi, and lowbrow/pop surrealism art, this piece carries a profound hidden pedigree. It was painted by the multi-talented late artist, musician, and master luthier **Harry Lovell Shaffer III (1976–2022)**. Based out of Asheville, North Carolina, Shaffer was a widely respected figure in avant-garde, experimental, and world-music communities. He was highly celebrated as a brilliant innovator who founded CarbonSitars, pioneering the engineering of custom, 21st-century carbon-fiber sitars. His meticulous hand-crafted instruments solved historical tuning and climate-warping issues for traditional Indian classical strings, and his earliest carbon-fiber prototype is held in the permanent collection of the prestigious Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, Arizona. In addition to his luthiery, Shaffer was an accomplished microtonal composer who released avant-garde, boundary-pushing projects (such as *Passaggio* with Killick Hinds). His paintings deeply mirror the complex, multi-layered, and surrealist nature of his musical compositions. Because Shaffer focused heavily on his instruments and underground musical craft rather than commercial gallery circuits, original paintings of his rarely appear on the public market. This is an incredible opportunity to own a rare artifact of his immense creative estate, or simply a magnificent conversation piece for a collector of high-quality surrealist and alien art.Original painting on flat canvas board
