Zia Pueblo pottery is a renowned tradition from the Zia (or Sia) Pueblo in New Mexico, part of the Southwestern Native American pottery heritage. Zia pottery is typically polychrome, featuring a distinctive red, black, and white color scheme on a buff or tan base.
Yvonne is the daughter of Vincente & Juanita Shije. Her father Vincente was from the Acoma Pueblo and her mother Juanita is from Zia. The walls of Yvonne's pottery tend to be thinner than most Zia pottery which is obviously from her father's Acoma influence. Very high quality and all natural paints. Yvonne's pottery is hard to come by.
