Original vintage Pontiac Indian Head radiator cap / hood ornament mascot, attributed to Ternstedt Manufacturing Co., USA, dating to the late 1920s. Features a Native American head with flowing hair incorporated into the radiator cap. The underside retains a worn, partially legible maker marking that appears to read;
MADE BY TERNSTEDT MFG CO DETROIT USA
Measures approximately 5” long × 4.25” wide × 2.5” tall.
This item is damaged. The two long rear-facing feather elements missing/broken off and it seems like a section cracked off at the bottom. It also shows substantial loss of the original plated finish, oxidation, pitting, corrosion, and general age wear. The Indian head, facial features, flowing hair, cap body, and mounting hardware remain present.
Please review all photos carefully for condition, completeness, and the partially legible underside marking.
