The fish is roughly 2/3 or more complete and has been exposed as much as I possibly could have exposed it showing a robust skull and other elements such as a distinct notochord and swim bladder. It is partly dephosphatised and is flattened beyond the skull for the most part, however exhibits scale detail which is especially notable in the partial counterpart (last 3 photos). There is likely more of the specimen that can be uncovered, however it’ll be a difficult task given the fold that is present toward the exterior of the fish hence why I state it is at least 2/3 complete. It furthermore has a clear protective coating to preserve the specimen and keep the carbon preservation from deteriorating over time.Very few D. longicaudatus have been discovered to this degree of completion and the other specimens currently reside in museum collections.
