A tough and very displayable earlyOlde English “600” Brand Malt Liquor 11 oz flat-top canfrom theBrewing Corporation of Oregon, Portland, Oregon.
Great old graphics with the Olde English shield, large red“600”, metallic-gold panels with red crosshatching, and the Portland brewery mandatory prominently printed on the front.
One of the coolest features is the original top, boldly marked:
“ALCOHOLIC CONTENT OVER 8% BY WEIGHT”
The top is opened with two original-style church-key openings.
Condition:Definitely an off-grade can, but one that displays considerably better from the front. The main face retainsstrong, crisp color and very readable graphics, with scattered humidity spotting, scratches and age marks. There is substantially heavier oxidation/rust on the metallic side panels, around the seam and rims, and the bottom is heavily oxidized. Body remains reasonably straight and the primary display face still has excellent character.
ROUGH BUT TOUGH— a great shelf-filler example of an unusual11 oz Portland Olde English 600 flat top, especially appealing for a Pacific Northwest, Oregon, malt-liquor or early flat-top collection.
