Dial& Knobs: The attractive airplane style dial displays the AM broadcast scaleat the top and the shortwave band at the bottom. A top mounted diallamp allows for easy dim or dark room tuning. All letters and numbers on thedial are legible and show very little signs of wear. The surrounding gold escutcheon adds an elegant touch. All four knobs are in perfect shape andcontrol band switch, high/low tone, tuning & on/off & volume.
GrillCloth: The 1930's style grill cloth is a fine replacementfabric featuring copper and gold colors with an Art Deco diamond design. This fabric canalso be purchased separately in our store or just click this class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;">Chassis: All tubes in the 5-tube chassis weretested with any weak tubes being replaced. All caps, filters and resistors werechecked and replaced as needed. All brittle or bare wiring was replaced orre-insulated. The chassis has been cleaned, lubed and re-aligned for optimalperformance. Using the included copper line antenna the radio plays very well.I'm able to pick up many stations across the AM broadcast band with great toneand plenty of volume. I am also able to pick up a couple of shortwave stations, especially at night.

Our goal is to maintainthe natural beauty of the wood and grain, while providing a deep luster andshine. We achieve this by removing all the old and worn lacquers and stains. Wethen sand the cabinet with fine grit pads down to the original bare wood.Nicks, chips, and blemishes are filled and/or blended. Any loose veneer isre-secured. We make sure any filler applied, or repairs made are blended nicelyand do not detract from the beauty of the set unless otherwise noted. Newstains and sealers are applied by hand. We continue by using many coats ofMohawk brand lacquers and toners applied in the same manner as when the radiowas originally finished in the factory. We use nitrocellulose piano lacquerwhich is applied through a professional HVLP turbine spray system in aclimate-controlled room. Nitrocellulose lacquer is very thin. We also applyvery thin coats. This allows the lacquer to seep into the grain and not coverit up. A fine grit wet sanding follows every third coat along with a polishingprocess and ending with a QAR-Glaze rub (available in our store or clickhere: https://www..com/itm/133346478270 ).Many hours of work are put into the radios, but as you can see, the outcome isa beautiful, natural-looking cabinet with gorgeous luster & shine.
