An exceptional and increasingly scarce pair of original Revere "Crescent" candlesticks, one of the most recognizable and desirable designs produced during the American Machine Age period. Designed specifically for use with Revere's distinctive "U" candles, the streamlined form exemplifies Bel Geddes' pioneering approach to modern industrial design and the aerodynamic aesthetic that defined the Art Deco era.
The model is documented as the "Crescent" Candlestick, Catalog No. 160, in the 1937Gifts by Reverecatalog, where it is attributed to Norman Bel Geddes. The catalog describes the pieces as having a satin chrome finish with satin black nickel bases, creating a striking contrast that perfectly complements the sculptural crescent form.
The bases have the original felt covered wood blocks. Typical vintage wear to bases from use.
Original examples with the satin black nickel finish are becoming increasingly difficult to locate and are highly sought after by collectors of Art Deco, Streamline Moderne, and twentieth-century industrial 4.25 inches
