Amos’s Tip
A thousand percent: when you’ve got a classic adventure hero like Flash Gordon, you lean into the pulp energy. This 1988 maxi-series opener has everything you want — that bold red backdrop, Ming’s enormous sinister grin, the rocket ship, the sword, the pulpy femme-fatale figure, and Flash leaping forward like he owns the decade. The mix of 1930s spirit with late-80s DC art is exactly the kind of vibe collectors love.
