Lovely, beautifully crafted, detailed Navajo overlay sterling silver Owl Kachina bolo tie. The overlay sawing and soldering have been precisely and expertly done. Also note the detailed stamping on the head and skirt of the kachina. The tie was made by the multiple award-winning Navajo artist Robert Becenti, Jr. (1949-2001), and it is stamped with his hallmark \"B-C-T\" and a pipe. The tie was most likely made in the 1980s-90s. Robert Becenti, Jr. began working silver in the 1970s and continued until his untimely death in 2001.The four-ply black leather strap is attached with an unmarked Bennett-style clamp of the type used in the 80s-90s. The strap is soft and pliable and shows virtually no wear.The trapezoidaltie is 3\" long and 1-7/8\" wide at the top. The stamped sterling silver tips are each 2-1/8\" long.I am a long time member.
