This vintage Native American Navajo Warrior Spirit Mask is a stunning piece of ceramic art, handmade with glass eyes and mounted on wood. It also has horns as part of the headdress, as well as feathers, leather, fur and silver conchos for decoration. Nice detail and very dramatic! Handmade in USA. Unsigned.
It measures 20 inches long overall, and the wood behind the mask measures 12 x 9 inches. With the horns it extends to 5 1/2 inches. This mask has not been modified and is in its original state. No visible damage. The lines you see on face are actually fur.
I believe it is Navajo (from what I have seen online). I live near the Navajo Nation and I purchased it in the 1990s in Northern New Mexico on or near it.
