π HISTORY β THE ORIGINAL 1925 SANTA
The Memories of Santa Collection began in 1983, when Christmas Reproductions, Inc. introduced its first Santa Claus collectible.
That original figurine depicted Santa Claus circa 1925.
The design was inspired by antique chocolate molds and reflected the traditional American image of Santa Claus during the early 20th century.
According to the original historical documentation, the first 1925 Santa was so popular that collectors eagerly sought examples after the initial release.
The original 1983 edition was limited to 15,000 pieces, and the company eventually retired the design.
β THE 1997 LIMITED-EDITION REPLICA
In 1997, Christmas Reproductions, Inc. created a special reproduction of the original 1925 Santa exclusively for its collectors club.
The accompanying historical card explains that the replica was carefully manufactured to resemble the original 1983 figurine.
The original Santa wore a dark green toy sack, while this 1997 replica features a tan-colored sack and a blue dress among the toys.
These details help distinguish the replica from the original release.
The base is marked:
MEMORIES OF SANTA 1997
CHRISTMAS REPRODUCTIONS, INC.
Β©1997 CRI β MADE IN CHINA
This official identification makes the figurine especially appealing to collectors who appreciate the history and development of the Memories of Santa series.
IMPORTANT: This listing is for the 1997 limited-edition replica, not the original 1983 release.
