Meissen Gold Floral Relief Rococo Porcelain Cabinet Plate Charger 11" Germany For Sale

A richly decorated vintage Meissen porcelain cabinet plate or charger featuring sculptural floral relief, elaborate Rococo scrollwork, and extensive gold gilding.

The form is documented in the MEISSENER model number reference under model Z 98/9 (54157) and titled “Prunkschale.” The original model was created in 1850–1851 by Ernst August Leuteritz, an influential nineteenth-century Meissen modeler associated with the manufactory’s Historicist and Rococo Revival designs.

This particular example dates to 1967, based on the impressed production-year symbol appearing on the reverse.

The plate is formed with four raised floral cartouches surrounding an ornate central Rococo medallion. Matte and polished gilded surfaces emphasize the deeply molded flowers, leaves, shells, and scrolling ornament, creating a highly dimensional decorative effect.

The reverse bears the underglaze-blue Meissen crossed-swords mark together with impressed and painted production markings.
