This is a MCM vintage covered candy dish or compote, measuring about 7 1/4\" to the top of the finial and it is 6 \" in diameter at its widest point. It features smokey brown/amber colored glass and gold gilding, with a swirled design in gold and yellow dots.
The bowl itself is 2 1/2\" tall without the lid.
I see no cracks or cloudiness in the glass. The only damage I see is one chip under the lid lip and some wear to the gold gilding here and there.
This piece came from the estate of a collector of glassware, much of it mid-century Murano but also some pieces from Bohemia and the United States. But I can not state definitively that it is Murano as I am not an expert.
