Lot of 6 Antique 1898 Patrons of Husbandry Grange Ribbons Rehoboth Mass PH:
$60.00

A rare opportunity to acquire a complete chapter lot of turn-of-the-century agricultural history. This bulk lot includes six (6) original, matching reversible meeting and mourning badges issued by the Patrons of Husbandry (P. of H. / The Grange), originating from Anawan Grange No. 221 in Rehoboth, Massachusetts (Organized Feb. 22, 1898).

This synchronized set is a fantastic find for fraternal order historians, Grange collectors, or regional Massachusetts ephemera specialists.

  • Obverse Regular Design: The front of each badge features a striking red, white, and blue silk ribbon suspended from an ornate gold-plated header with an undamaged celluloid insert displaying crossed American flags and "P. H." lettering. A central celluloid insert features the colorful Grange emblem. The lodge details and traditional interlocking hands graphic are sharply printed in gold leaf.

  • Reverse Memorial Design: The reverse sides serve as formal funeral mourning textiles, featuring a rich black silk field beautifully stamped in reflective silver-foil with "In Memoriam" text and the symbolic Grange agricultural distaff motif.

  • Condition Report: All six ribbons are in exceptional structural condition. Early fraternal silk is famously prone to dry-rot splitting, but these matrices remain completely stable and tight. Five ribbons feature their original tightly coiled bullion fringe, while one variant retains a looser silver-threaded fringe. The silver and gold foil stamps remain incredibly bright across the entire lot.
