Beautiful dimensional Lion of Lucerne wall plaque distributed by Swiss souvenir company Alberto SA. This detailed relief depicts the famous Löwendenkmal monument in Lucerne, Switzerland, including the Swiss shield, fleur-de-lis shield, wounded lion and Latin inscription “HELVETIORUM FIDEI AC VIRTUTI.”
The original Lion Monument was created in 1820–21 in memory of the Swiss Guards who died defending the Tuileries Palace in Paris during the French Revolution in 1792. This decorative reproduction makes an interesting piece of Swiss travel memorabilia as well as a striking historical wall display.
