This is an authentic Limoges Peint Main trinket box in the form of a seated Harlequin figure, cross-legged in a vividly hand-painted diamond-patterned jester costume of red, blue, yellow, and black, with a black two-pointed jester’s hat and a black masquerade mask over green eyes. His arms are crossed at the chest, and he sits on a small white cushion edged in red. The opening is set at the waist, secured with a gold-tone belt and buckle.
The underside is signed “Limoges France, Peint Main” with the artist’s initials, confirming both the atelier origin and the authenticity of the piece.
