Description
A late 19th to early 20th-century table picture frame executed in a French Belle Époque design. The rectangular outer framework is constructed from gilt brass, fitted at the top with an ornate scrolling foliate cresting ornament and an integrated hanging loop. The interior features a wide, oval-opening mat covered in a heavily textured, olive-green and gold patinated leatherette covering, accented at the corners with four applied cast brass foliate spandrel brackets.The reverse side is wrapped in a dark blue textured paper backing, configured with an integrated easel swing stand, a top suspension ring, and four pivoting brass turn-clips that secure the backing board. The interior houses an antique black-and-white studio portrait photograph of a young child holding a large candlestick, held in place behind an oval multi-tabbed brass retaining bezel.

Condition
Pre-owned. The frame is in structurally sound antique condition but lacks its original fabric arresting ribbon, meaning the easel leg will swing out flat and will not reliably stand up on its own unless replaced. The textured green leatherette mat surface displays heavy scuffing, surface wear, and localized loss to the outer decorative layer along the right and lower edges. The brass components show natural oxidation and surface tarnish consistent with age. The included historical portrait photograph shows uniform light fading. Sold as is.Disclaimer
