Originally from Germany this is a late 1800s antique, hand-carved smoking pipe, featuring a carving of a hand. The pipe is made from Meerschaum - a lightweight, porous mineral that absorbs moisture and tobacco tar. It has an amber / horn style stem.The pipe sits in a custom-fitted, hinged case, lined with a velvet material. One can faintly see the makers mark on the case inner lining (see pic).
Unfortunately the hand / fingers have broken away on this particular pipe (see pic). It no longer has the \"bowl\" that once would have fitted onto the palm of the hand. None the less, this is still a rare collectors item that will make a great gift for that special someone
