Large Lot Business Records DUFF & COWAN Attorneys Springfield Illinois 1860-1870 For Sale

This is a large collection of business records associated with the law firm of Duff & Cowan in Springfield, IL. The two partners, Jonathan Duff and Augustus Cowan, were both prominent attorneys and active in Democratic politics. Both held public office in the areas. The firm also had extensive dealings with real estate.
Most of this collection consists of correspondence to the firm or directly to Jonathan Duff. There are also some notes on real estate matters, and three ledger sheets showing payments of debts and tax assessments made by individuals in Pontiac, Illinois.Lot includes the following:
