This is a large lacquered wooden Mokugyo (fish-shaped Buddhist gong) netsuke from the Meiji Era, discovered in an old family storehouse in Aizu-Wakamatsu, Japan.

A signature is carved on the piece, but it is unreadable.

Condition:
• Scratches and stains.
• There is a chipped part on the side near the hole (please check the photos).
This is an antique item with age-related wear.
