Cast as a single-piece copper-alloy devotional cross with an integral high-relief corpus, it is richly decorated with polychrome champlevé enamel in shades of blue, green, white, and warm golden-toned fields, creating exceptional visual depth and contrast.The iconographic program is both complete and beautifully executed. At the summit appears the Mandylion (Image Not Made by Hands), flanked by the Angels of the Lord. The principal crossbeam bears the traditional Church Slavonic liturgical inscription:\"We bow before Thy Cross, O Master, and glorify Thy Holy Resurrection.\"The Crucified Christ is depicted above Jerusalem, with Golgotha and the Skull of Adam below.
