Lalique crystal Sylphide Soliflore Vase in original box
In case you wanted to know, a slyph is an imaginary spirit of the air. I would call these lovely beings fairies but am happy to learn a new word. There are 4 sylphs with butterfly-like wings around the sides of this delicate little vase.
Soliflore means "single flower" - identifying the vase as just the right size for a single bloom. The vase was purchased from the Lalique store in Paris in 1998 and is signed in script on the the bottom: Lalique (R) France
There is also a paper on the base with a code - 1252500
During its time in storage, the black lining in the lid of the box disintegrated, making a bit of a mess, but the crystal vase is, of course unharmed - please look carefully at photos.
4" tall, 1 3/8" round at base, 1 1/2" at widest, weighing 4.2 ounces
Your purchase supports the Port Jefferson Historical Society Consignment Shop - thank you!
