Album/log of pages in wooden cover with photo of Pacific Northwest style of summer building- cover says \"Guest Log\". The item has a brown cord. About 22 pages of the book have entries, some on both sides and some only on one side. About 18 pages are blank at the back of the book.
This seems to be a log from the Radcliffes of Klamath Falls, Oregon. Many of the entries refer to the hosts, Helen and Bill. This would have been Ruth Helen Radcliffe and Bill Radcliffe, children of R Heber and Ruth Radcliffe, and there is an entry labeled \"Bill Radcliffe\". There are entries from 1938 through 1950 with comments from guests about wonderful meals and picnics, including menus for some meals, with names of some people attending. Some of the names mentioned are Vernon and Vilma Kuney, Grace Duncan, Elizabeth Rath, Rae Anderson, and Anne Adamson. Most of the entries are from 1943-1945 in the summer months. The last entry is from \"H.R.\" in 1950, saying that she had to say hello to the old summer house. There is a newspaper clipping about the 25th anniversary dinner for Mr and Mrs W O E Radcliffe on June 17 (1945, most likely, based on the placement in the log), and many of these folks are mentioned as attendees at that meal.
There is also a 1940s era menu from the Pelican Cafe in Klamath Falls and a handwritten \"Greetings\" note - To Mom From Little Bill- tucked into the guest log.
The book measures about 8 inches by 10 inches when closed and has about 40 pages, and about half of them have entries. The pages have age discoloration/toning and marks, and a few have small tears. The pages that are directly against the wooden cover have the most discoloration.
The menu has been folded in half to fit in the book. When unfolded, it measures about 6.75 inches by 11 inches and opens to be 2 panels wide. It has a specials list paper clipped in. It has 3 horizontal creases, marks, dings and pressure marks,
The little greeting card is about 2 inches by 2.5 inches when closed.
