This is a Japanese Ichimatsu Daki-Ningyo / Hugging doll, from the Meiji Era (1890-1910).
He is such an adorableboy with well-made limbs and ears, inset glass eyes, and jointed wrists and ankles.
Doll condition: Small color addition at base of right ear, color addition at joints with the clothes on both arms, a little glue mark on the hair. Hair is original human hair. The doll it self has no cracks. Very good shape and very good condition for being more than 110 years old!It is very rare to find a doll that lasted so many years in such good condition.
Very skillfully crafted with gofun pigment.
We bought this doll from Japan. It is a large-sized dakiningyo (hugging doll) - almost 23 inches (58 cm) tall.
We want to pass it on to someone who will cherish and love him. He will be a wonderful addition to your collection! He comes from a smoke-free home, and he was well-kept inside a sealed cabinet.
This doll looks like the doll on a page from the Japanese antique doll book (shown in the last photo.)
We will pack it very carefully and will provide a tracking number.
