Japanese Geisha Doll with Shamisen vintage collectable For Sale

Japanese Geisha Doll with Shamisen, vintage collectable. Date unknown. The doll has a porcelain face and hands and wears a silk padded kimono with a trailing hem called a kosode. Her shorter sleeves mark her as a full geisha rather than a maiko (apprentice geisha, whose kimono have very long sleeves). She carries a shamisen, one of the traditional geisha musical instruments, that has a broken string; the other two strings are missing. The doll stands approximately 10" with stand, and has a label attesting to its 100% silk kimono.
