Vintage linen postcard depicting the home of actress Jane Withers in Westwood Village, Los Angeles, California. This colorful souvenir combines a landscaped residential view with a circular portrait of Withers, making it an appealing piece for collectors of classic Hollywood memorabilia and movie-star homes.
The printed front caption reads:
“787. HOME OF JANE WITHERS, WESTWOOD VILLAGE, LOS ANGELES, CALIF.”
THE HOME AND GROUNDS
The illustration shows a substantial two-story residence situated above a carefully landscaped garden. A long upper balcony or veranda stretches across much of the front, supported by slender white columns. Green shutters, a prominent pale chimney, and a projecting gabled section add architectural detail.
The grounds fill much of the foreground, with clipped hedges, colorful flower beds, small trees, and a pale retaining wall along the street. Walkways and steps lead through the garden toward the house. The elevated viewpoint of the residence gives the composition depth, while the blue sky provides a contrasting backdrop.
A circular portrait inset at the right shows a smiling Jane Withers. The warm peach-colored border and textured linen finish complement the bright greens and blues of the scene.
CELEBRITY-HOME SOUVENIR
The card presents the property as Jane Withers’ home through its original printed caption. The combination of house view and portrait would have appealed to visitors collecting souvenirs associated with Hollywood personalities.
It offers collecting interest beyond the celebrity connection, including Los Angeles residential architecture, garden design, Westwood Village imagery, and vintage California tourism.
