J. Cole
Signed copy of the 2003 Terry Sanford High School yearbook
Signed by a 17-year-old pre-fame Jermaine Cole—now recognized as J. Cole—to a classmate in black ink:
"Teresa, thanks for helping me with the ap lang questions. - J.C.""AP lang" refers to Advanced Placement English —a college-level writing course that may have helped shape his lyrical abilities.
Cole is featured throughout the yearbook:-Senior Portrait (Page 26) listing his involvements with the National Honor Society, FBLA and Varsity Basketball-Senior Superlative (Page 22): Featured for being voted "Best Dressed"-National Honor Society Portrait-Varsity Basketball (Pages 144 & 145): Featured in the "Bulldog Basketball" team photo wearing jersey No. 22
The year 2003 is the setting of his double-platinum track "'03 Adolescence" (from 2014 Forest Hills Drive), which deconstructs the dualities pictured in this book—contrasting his academic honors status with his teenage insecurities about his clothing and shoes.
In fine condition overall with minor age and handling related imperfections.
