Inuit Soapstone Carving \"Standing Man\" Native Canadian Art (c 1920 or 1980)
This is an authentic vintage Canadian Inuit art sculpture, hand-carved from soapstone. The figurine depicts a person in traditional dress and is clearly signed \"Luke\" on the bottom. It measures approximately 3 inches tall. This collectible piece is in excellent vintage condition with wear consistent with its age.
The Inuit \'Eskimo Man\' carving was hand carved by Inuit artist William Luke. According to one expert source, Luke produced his carvings around 1980 although another source claimed they were created around 1920. This piece wasacquired from the estate of an Ohio collector of native art.
