featuring a well cast, cold-painted central figurine on an onyx base with a two similar figurative side garnitures
It is original, including key and pendulum as far as it is possible to ascertain
It includes a top quality Japy movement - a pearl in any houseEight-day Pendule de Paris movement with hourly and half-hourly bell strike
Circular enamelled dial with Latin numerals and a hand-painted floral decoration - very good condition
The case is in very good condition with a bit of the usual air-borne acid-induced corrosion to some of the veins in the onyx
Original Japy movement (numbers correspond) - trade mark (photo) used in the 1890s (or thereabouts, reliable documentation is scarce)

He showed works at the Salon of Paris from 1870 to 1899, and in 1897 received an honourable mention thereThe two side-garniture figurines are by Auguste Moreau (1855-1919)
Moreau studied with his father and also under Aimé Millet, Augustin Drumont and Jean Thomas
