Details: This is a large period Rising Sun Flag embroidered with the inscription \"Shanghai Naval Special Landing Force / Commander Denshichi Okawachi.\" Denshichi Okawachi served as commander of the Imperial Japanese Navy\'s Shanghai Special Naval Landing Force during the Second Battle of Shanghai in 1937. The flag is large, measuring approximately 52.0 × 34.6 inches. The name of the Shanghai Special Naval Landing Force and the name of its commander, Denshichi Okawachi, are prominently embroidered on the flag, making it a very rare and valuable historical artifact of the Imperial Japanese Navy. More than 80 years have passed since the end of the war, and the flag shows age-related deterioration including stains, dirt, color bleeding, fraying, insect damage, and rust.
