Vintage original small Imperial Airways airline passenger leaflet dated 1930 (printer’s code visible), issued during the Croydon Airport era. The cover features the classic winged “IA” crest, one of the most recognisable early British airline symbols, with Croydon, Surrey listed as the operating airport.

Inside, the leaflet provides early passenger guidance covering aircraft movements, banking and turbulence (“bumps”), and advice on how to travel in comfort. There are period details such as recommendations for dealing with engine noise and air pressure, along with explanations of air sickness and cabin conditions. The content gives a very clear insight into how Imperial Airways introduced passengers to flying at a time when it was still a novel experience.

It also briefly outlines operational aspects of Imperial Airways services, including references to British-built aircraft, onboard facilities, and communication with the pilot. The tone reflects early commercial aviation procedures and the reassurance given to first-time air travellers.
