This route is now US highway 20 between Idaho Falls and West Yellowstone, Montana, very near the western boundary of the national parkthe sign is made to the 1915 specification of the Idaho State Auto Association, with the logo at the bottom (as well as the association name at the sides) and with sharp corners. later generations changed to rounded corners for safety, in case an unexpected kinetic event caused the darn thing to come flying through the windshield.The sign is 18 1/2 inches on a side (approximately 29 inches across the long axis, and 23 up and down the short axis), and weighs 8 pounds, 12 ounces. The original of these signs would cost many thousands of dollars, if it even survives at all. This is a high quality, heavy steel remake that has the same high gloss and is indistinguishable from the original early 1910s porcelain sign.
