Hull Pottery Vintage Brown Bean Pot
Vintage Hull Pottery bean pot from the House \'n Garden line in iconic Mirror Brown drip glaze. Large 2-quart high gloss pot designed with robust, integrated side handles and original matching lid. Mid-century utilitarian design stoneware that is oven-proof and microwave-safe - not for us on stovetop. Made in the USA in Crooksville, Ohio from 1960 to 1985. Date range estimate late 70s to 1985 due to glazed filled markings, move to omitting mold numbers, and non-faceted lid handle. Lid handles for 2 qt. pots were redesigned for heavier lids with Mold 1512. Manufacturer factory mark on base is heavily filled in with thick, glossy brown glaze from production. Under close inspection, faint outlines of the arced script signature and Oven Proof USA are visible - see base images, one is enhanced to attempt easier viewing. Authenticity is further confirmed by the signature pale cream-colored raw clay ring on the base, which is a definitive characteristic of genuine Hull pottery. A few flea bites/glazing pits on side, single flea bite chip on unglazed base rim - see images. Timeless MCM oven bean pot. Versatile as a traditional baked bean pot, chili server, soup tureen, canister, cookie jar, or as decor for a country, farmhouse, rustic, cabincore, or cottagecore kitchen.
