Anthony Brinoes is a traditional katsina doll carver and was born on the First Mesa in Arizona. He learned how to carve in the traditional style from his cousin where he uses feathers, fur, fabric and cottonwood root in the construction of his dolls. He currently resides in Phoenix, AZ.

The Morning Singer Kachina represents early morning or dawnas he appears at dawn during the Bean Dance and announces the news of the day. He sings songs to wake the village while passing out bean sprouts for the people to eat.

His purpose is to bring balance and harmony to the new day.

A kachina (/kəˈtʃiːnə/; also katchina, katcina, or katsina; Hopi: katsina [kaˈtsʲina], plural katsinim [kaˈtsʲinim]) is a spirit being in the religious beliefs of the Pueblo peoples, Native American cultures located in the south-western part of the United States. Dolls are carved traditionally as teaching tools for the children as Oral Traditions as facilitated with the dolls. Each doll has a story associated, sometimes historical events, sometimes the physical world and sometimes the mystical. In the Pueblo cultures, kachina rites are practiced by the Hopi, Zuni, Hopi-Tewa, and certain Keresan tribes, as well as in most Pueblo tribes in New Mexico.

Raymond Chee is a Navajo artist who moves between the Navajo, Hopi and white worlds with ease. He always carves using traditional Hopi knife-carved cottonwood root. He sometimes carves Hopi Katsinam, he sometimes carves Navajo subject matter. He and his brother, Duwayne and his nephew, Duwayne Jr., have begun to focus more on the Navajo cultural history in their carvings and they do beautiful work. He is a wonderful artist who does excellent detail work.
