Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co.
No. 70 O-V-B Food Chopper - Meat Grinder
Cast Metal, Hand Crank, Table Mount
This antique Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co. food chopper is a classic example of early 20th-century American hardware. The Chicago-based company used the O-V-B (Our Very Best) brand to signify their highest tier of quality. This No. 70 model features a robust cast construction designed for kitchen utility, complete with its manual crank and patent markings dated May 17, 1904.
• Heavy cast metal body with embossed company and model markings
• O-V-B logo clearly readable on the main housing body
• Turned wood handle on a manual metal crank arm
• Integrated screw-clamp mechanism for secure countertop mounting
• Includes grinding plate and internal auger as pictured
Condition: Fair used condition consistent with age. The unit shows significant oxidation, darkening, and surface wear, particularly on the interior grinding components. The exterior finish exhibits pitting and finish loss. Mechanical parts, including the hand crank and mounting clamp, remain functional and move freely.
