Up for sale is a genuine Herend Porcelain Manufactory oversized combo cup and saucer set in the coveted, discontinued “Kitty” (KY) decor. Herend is one of Europe’s most celebrated porcelain houses, hand-crafted in Hungary since 1826 and favored by royal households worldwide.
This is the larger “combo” size cup — measuring a generous 4.5” in diameter, sized between a standard tea cup and a coffee cup so it comfortably serves either beverage. It features a scalloped, gold-rimmed silhouette with a delicate embossed basketweave texture — hand-painted with a naturalistic tulip spray in soft gray and yellow tones as the central motif, accented by small scattered sprigs of violets, forget-me-nots, and berries around the rim. The interior of the cup carries three tiny painted leaf sprigs and a gilt edge.
Every piece in the Kitty series is individually hand-painted, so no two tulip sprays are ever identical — this makes each cup and saucer a unique, one-of-a-kind decorative piece as well as a functional teacup.
