Hawthorne Village \"Lemp Mansion\" — Issue Nine in the \"America\'s Most Haunted\" Illuminated Village Collection from The Bradford Exchange. Item 14-01836-009, hand-numbered Sculpture No. A0572, ©2016.
Includes the original power cord and bulb, both tested and confirmed working. These use a proprietary base plug and replacement cords are difficult to source, so this piece is ready to light and display out of the box.
A cast resin model of the Lemp Mansion in St. Louis, Missouri — the home of the Lemp family, whose brewery was once among the largest in the United States. Built in the 1860s beside the brewery complex and connected to it by the limestone caves beneath the city, the house passed through three generations of family tragedy before Prohibition ended the business. Life magazine named it one of the most haunted places in America, and it operates today as a restaurant and inn, drawing visitors from around the country.
The sculpt follows the real building closely: red brick Italianate construction with a bracketed white cornice, arched windows, a rounded corner tower, slate-gray roof, and four brick chimney stacks. Hand-painted throughout with climbing ivy, scattered pumpkins and autumn leaves, a stone walkway, and a wood-fenced side yard with barrels and crates. Windows glow warm amber when lit.
