Striking hand-carved wooden bird sculpture depicting what appears to be a hornbill perched on a naturally styled carved base.
The bird has an elongated curved bill, long tail feathers and deeply carved wing and feather details. The contrasting smooth body and more roughly worked base preserve much of the character of the hand-carving process.

Condition:
Pre-owned handcrafted condition with surface wear, scratches, tool marks and natural variations in the wood. Fine drying/age checks are visible in places, and the carved base has intentionally rough and irregular surfaces. Please review all photographs carefully for exact condition.
The carving appears stylistically consistent with African folk-art wood carving, but the maker, country of origin, age, wood species and cultural attribution are unknown. It is therefore being sold as an unattributed hand-carved folk-art sculpture.
