• RARE and DESIRABLE KNIFE

• Made by W.R. CASE & SONS CUTLERY (BRADFORD, PENNSYLVANIA).
• Vintage CASE Pattern 51050 - LARGE COKEpocket knife.
• Tang stamp is deep and clear: "CASE TESTED XX": 1920-1940.
• This is an early Case Tested knife in great condition.
• Knife is 5-3/8" long (closed) with brass liners.
• The blade steel is carbon steel.
• Nickel-silver oval, pinned CASE SHIELD.
• Blade matches up well with the backspring; minor left/right play (hardly any).
• Handles are amber-colored STAG; great color and texture.
• Handles have a single, minor pin crack at middle pin (see discussion above). One pin (middle) was replaced long ago with a nail (not evident why it was replaced).
• The blade was sharpened, but I'd call it "lightly sharpened" (no substantial blade loss); blade remains full length.
• The knife has some surface spotting, oxidation, and patina. No pitting. The knife was not buffed, but would benefit from cleaning and buffing.
• Great, seldom-seen knife.
