H. Northwood Glass Co 631 Blue Jade Stretch Glass 12\" Plate - 1922 -1925 For Sale

This #631 12\" Jade Blue stretch glass plate was produced by the H. Northwood Glass Co. of Wheeling W. Va sometime between 1922 when the color was introduced and 1925 when the plant closed. The plate measures 11-3/4\" (29.8 cm) in diameter and features 28 optic rays. The piece is in excellent condition without chips, flea bites, or scratches. There are a couple of \"straw marks\" from manufacture as may be expected of glass this age. The plate is acid etched on the bottom of the marie with an inauthentic Steuben Fleur de Lis which was someone\'s attempt to mislead a buyer into believing this was Steuben made.There are not likely many of these plates around and we did not find any in this color and size while researching. Harry Northwood died in the early part of 1919 and without his leadership the company foundered. This color was produced in in last years when production was tailing off.
