Welcome to Todd and Pepper\'s Treasures!
Up for sale is an authentic, vintage Griswold No. 8 Cast Iron Deep Skillet / Chicken Fryer (Pattern #2528), crafted in Erie, Pennsylvania. Featuring the classic Small Block Logo (SBL) and the desirable early teardrop handle, this piece dates to circa 1939–1944.
Note that pattern #2528 is the slightly harder-to-find variant compared to the standard #777 deep skillet, as it features the integrated helper tab on the front rim originally designed to accommodate a hinged or standard skillet cover.
Condition & Highlights:
Sits Perfectly Flat: This pan has been tested on a flat surface and sits dead flat with zero spin, rock, or wobble—making it ideal for modern glass-top, induction, or gas ranges.
Cooking Surface: Clean, smooth vintage factory-milled interior. Shows light, honest utensil marks from decades of careful use, with a smooth, ready-to-cook seasoned finish.
Exterior & Markings: Crisp, clearly legible \"NO. 8\", Griswold Cross Logo, \"ERIE PA\", and \"2528\" markings on the smooth bottom. No cracks, chips, or structural repairs.
Features: Deep 3-inch walls perfect for frying, braising, baking, or stewing, complete with dual pour spouts and a front helper tab.
Measurements (Approximate):
Size: #8
Top Diameter: 10.5 inches (spout to spout: ~11 inches)
