Gold Filled Chi Omega Psi Panhellenic Womens Sorority Pin Dangling Eta Symbol:
$17.00

Being offered is a vintage sorority pin. The pin looks like a shield with Greek letters signifying Chi Omega Psi. Info I found suggested this was for a women\'s sorority, or Panhellenic sorority which was located at the University of Arkansas, as Chi Omega is the sorority and Psi is the chapter located at the University. The pin has a tiny dangling chain attached, and to this chain is attached the letter H, which I was informed is the Greek symbol for Eta. This symbol apparently is related to a leadership role. The pin and letter are stamped GF for being gold filled, and the pin looks to have a makers mark. I am not sure if anything else is missing from the chain as it ends with nothing at the end. the pin is approx. 5/16\" by 3/8\", and the letter H is approx. 1/4\" by 3/16\".I am not sure how to grade something like this so have takenclose-up pics to help assess the item’s condition, what you see is what youget.
I by no means am an expert in this area so did some research with Google AI, which stated,“Based on the description of the stacked lettersand the specific dangle, this pin belongs to an initiated member or officer ofthe Psi Chapter of Chi Omega women\'s fraternity. Chi Omega\'s official membership badge is adistinctive monogram where the Greek letter Chi (X) is physically superimposedand stacked over the letter Omega (Ω). InNational Panhellenic sororities, chapters are named using Greek letters.Because Psi (Ψ) is part of the pin\'s structure or acts as the primary chapterguard, this specifically identifies the Psi Chapter. The \"Mother\" Chapter: The PsiChapter of Chi Omega is exceptionally famous in Greek life because it is thefounding chapter of the entire national organization, established on April 5,1895, at the University of Arkansas. InChi Omega\'s traditional executive leadership titles, the letter Eta (H) standsfor the Chapter President (internally referred to as the G.H. or Grand Eta). You are looking at a highly historic piece ofGreek life jewelry: an official President\'s badge belonging to a past chapterleader of Chi Omega\'s original founding chapter at the University of Arkansas.”
