Impressive large-scale Goebel sculpture titled “Passing the Peace Pipe,” sculpted by renowned Goebel artist Gerhard Skrobek. This detailed piece depicts a Native American man and frontiersman seated together beside a tipi in a symbolic scene of peace and fellowship.
This example is individually numbered No. 093 of a limited edition of only 400 produced, as stated on the original brass plaque mounted to the wooden display base.
The sculpture features a beautiful monochromatic white/bisque finish that allows the remarkable sculptural details to stand out, including the figures, clothing, ceremonial pipe, tipi, and textured ground. The sculpture is also signed “Skrobek” in the piece.
Gerhard Skrobek is particularly well known among Goebel collectors as one of the company’s important sculptors and for his extensive work creating three-dimensional models for Goebel’s famous M.I. Hummel figurines.
